Attachments on iPads (Exactix):
Some techs experience issues opening Exactix attachments on iPads. The problem may lie within Exactix, not Utilisphere, and could be related to a specific utility's configuration. Example tickets were requested for further investigation.

Exactix User Permissions:
Users with "single address" profiles face limitations compared to "excavator" profiles, which offer more permissions but require additional training. Support is available through Sunshine 811 to assist users in resolving profile and ticket entry issues.

Late Locates and Uncommunicated Delays:
Stormwater projects in Lee County face significant delays due to late locates or uncommunicated responses about delays. Suggestions include limiting ticket scope, contacting local supervisors, or using private locators, though liability concerns were raised. Sunshine 811's board is reviewing these issues.

Design Tickets vs. Excavation Tickets:
Confusion arises when utilities treat excavation tickets as design tickets, leading to missed locates. Callers were advised to clearly specify excavation activities, use attachments, and premark areas of concern to avoid miscommunication.

Non-Municipal Utilities and Enforcement Challenges:
Non-municipal utilities struggle to enforce excavation laws and address damages caused by out-of-area contractors. Sunshine 811 is enhancing training for enforcement and engaging law enforcement to improve compliance with Chapter 556.

Low Impact Marking Requirements:
Sunshine 811 emphasized minimizing unnecessary ticket renewals and avoiding excessive, unwarranted locate requests to reduce system strain.

Active Enforcement Updates:
There are few counties actively enforcing excavation laws. Sunshine 811 is working to compile and share a list of counties with active enforcement efforts and continues to provide enforcement-related training.

Available Training Opportunities:
Sunshine 811 offers free monthly training on the one-call system, held on the second Thursday of each month. This includes opportunities for CEUs for code enforcement officers.
