A Safe Digging Month Message to Our Members
On behalf of our staff and board of directors, Sunshine 811 thanks you for your partnership in the work we do together to ensure safe digging practices that prevent dig-ins. As you know, our work goes beyond that…we’re in the business of protecting human life, preventing damage to Florida’s underground infrastructure, and avoiding disasters that we know all too well have devastated businesses, families and communities.
Safe digging is a team effort. And as we work with excavators to share reminders on how to do their part to improve the 811 process, we also wanted to reach out to our member operators to share helpful tips and information as well...
Coordinate internally to ensure adequate staffing for locates.
Work with excavator if short duration tickets are continuously renewed. Refer them to a Sunshine 811 liaison for education. We’ll even bring you a special gift for your work to help us improve the process!
